Cultures of the Mekong River

Whoever wants to fall in love with South East Asia is recommended to travel along the course of the Mekong River. This river forms natural border between Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, formerly Indo-China. In this part of Asia travelling is still a real joy thanks to the natural charm of the countryside formed by karst erosion. This trip brings you first to the graceful old capital of Laos, Luang Prabang, via Vientiane to the lively old centre of Hanoi in Vietnam. Your journey continues to the former king's capital, Hue, where you can see lots of sites from the old days. Further south you have time to stay in the attractive ancient seaport Hoi'an. But the final and most impressive highlight is reserved for the end: the temples of Angkor in Cambodia. This ancient capital of the Khmer empire is a priceless complex of monuments and of course part of the World Heritage. Via Bangkok, where you can extend your stay in Asia, you will fly back home.
