Thousand Discoveries of China

Culture, nature. off the beaten track

Whoever is interested in seeing the variety of China but not travelling on the beaten tracks is recommended to follow this itinerary. This trip offers you various confrontations with relatively unknown landscapes and culture. For instance the monasteries and temples of the Wutaishan. It's the biggest Buddhist centre of China and beautifully located in the northern mountains. With one day's travel to the south you'll meet the unknown beauty of China's ancient cities: Pingyao (World Heritage Site). This tiny old town still has a fantastically preserved city wall together with a remarkable authentic centre. The last part of your journey you'll stay right inside the most magnificent landscapes of the world: the limestone formations of the Lijiang River. There is plenty of time to discover by yourself the attractiveness of the Chinese countryside either by boat, bike or on foot. And you will certainly not want to miss the highlights of China like Beijing and Xi'an.
